Get to know the leaders at our church!

Reverend Kathryn King

Welcome!  I am the pastor of The First Congregational Church of West Haven, member of United Church of Christ, and have been serving here since September 2016

I was raised and confirmed within the United Church of Christ, and was ordained in 1996 after completing dual Master’s Degree programs at Yale Divinity School and Columbia University School of Social Work. Previously, I served as pastor of the Northford Congregational Church, UCC, starting in 2009.  I was pastor of the Morris Congregational Church, UCC, from 1996 to 2001.  I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have worked as a clinician in a variety of settings.  I reside in Branford and am married to my partner of 15 years.  We share our home with Colin, a Border Collie and licensed therapy dog.  I am an avid gardener, and enjoy watercolor painting, photography, and cooking.

I look forward to seeing you at our church!

Jessica Tingley

Director of Christian Education

Welcome! I am excited to be working as the Director of Christian Education!

I was born into and raised in this church, and I feel very dedicated to this ministry. Here at FCCWH, I have worked with Sunday School, youth group, family events, confirmation class, church council, and the deacons. I help lead children's worship once a month in the chapel.  I am in my final year of Christian Education Certification through the United Church of Christ. I am also attending Southern Connecticut State University studying psychology and religious studies. My goal is to teach God's unconditional love in fun and spiritual ways.

I lean on the Scripture reading, "It is the Lord your God who goes before you. He will never leave you or forsake you." Moving forward, and never alone, I hope you will join our ministry!

With gratitude and joy,

I am Michael Harrington, West Haven Resident and member of the First Congregational Church of West Haven. I grew up in Florence, Massachusetts where I was taught in a small Congregational Church there. The Congregational Church is a comfortable family of believers who look to provide the Word of God to all who come in. My journey has brought me back to this church and I am currently serving as Assistant Treasurer.

I have a wife, 4 children, 2 grandchildren, and a Church Family.
